We are delighted here at the Trust to announce that we have been awarded the new Countywide Carers Support Service from Hampshire County Council that will commence in September. We are a specialist Carer organisation who have been operating in Hampshire for 30 years and consistently provided support for carers in that time. The Trust is part of a network of 130 Carer Centres in the UK. The network is coordinated by The Carers Trust.
We pride ourselves in our services to carers and our dedication to make sure that all carers are properly supported, their rights are recognised and they have a choice as to the extent of their caring role. We want to make sure all carers in Hampshire have access to high quality information and advice.
The new service will provide a wide range of assistance comprising information and advice, direct one-to-one support where carers’ needs are more complex, and contingency and emergency planning, helping carers to prepare plans in the event of an emergency and being unable to look after their loved one. The service is set to offer help to Hampshire carers over the age of 18 looking after an adult with a long-term health condition, including dementia, and those looking after a person with a physical or learning disability.
Kerry Hearsey MBE Chief Executive of the Trust said “It is an honour and a privilege to continue to serve the Carers of Hampshire and we look forward to supporting them as an absolute priority so they are able to take on and sustain their caring role, while maintaining their own health and wellbeing.”
