Free Continence Awareness Training

Are you providing unpaid practical or emotional support to a family member, a friend or another person who needs help or support to manage daily activities?

If so, you are a carer and may be interested in this FREE continence awareness training. Hampshire County Council is running a series of free continence awareness training sessions for unpaid carers and voluntary and community sector personnel who work with older adults in Hampshire.

Incontinence can negatively impact people’s quality of life hugely, and in Hampshire over quarter (25.6%) of people aged 65 years and over experience urinary incontinence. However, it is not an inevitable part of ageing and there are simple things that can be done to prevent, manage or in some cases even reverse it.

Join our free 2-hour Continence Awareness training session, with practical advice and tips, you’ll learn how to prevent, manage, and deal with incontinence effectively.

You’ll hear about:

  • Types and causes of urinary incontinence.
  • Simple tips to prevent or manage incontinence, including using the Live Longer Better continence checklist.
  • Basics of continence products and skin care
  • Where to get advice and more help.
